Another card for the game, this time it's Yomiko a.k.a. "The Paper"! I've wanted to do a sexy summer type drawing of her for a long time, so I figured I'd use that idea for this one.Related content

This is cool!
I think it'd be neat to see those papers on a loop in the background...or maybe that'd be too much movement.
Nevertheless I'm diggin' the slice of sky just below the top. The golden color you used for the name and bottom parts really make the sky feel like it's back in space which super helps Yomiko feel like she's out in front of the card parts!
I'm gonna check out the rest of these (and wonder if you've made a Lyndis one).

Yeah they're fun to do, I just use photoshop CS3.

Would this be possible in inkscape? I don't have access to commercial software and I'd like to keep what work I will do opensource.

I think so, if you can do pixels and layers in that program then I don't see why not.

Doujinshi seems to be somewhat legal, and I'm not even making money off of this (yet).

that only applies in japan, and even there doujinshi is illegal, but since it brings in money to the otaku industry the government gives it a pass. i guess its ok if you dont make money off of it though, i think thats what card saga wars is doing. do try t find a way to get paid though, starving artist ;_;

Doujinshi is essentially illegal, but it's just not enforced (yet) because most copyright holders over there don't care because it doesn't affect much of anything.
But making a free card game with established characters is fine. I'm actually trying to do the same thing, myself.
