Description
Finished my piece for LTD Gallery’s Press Start III: Turbo Edition art show at the very last minute! I had this idea some six odd years ago (good lord) and it seemed like as good an opportunity as any to execute on it for the show. Possibly spoilery for Bioshock? Buuuut also possibly way too obscure to spoil anyone.
I’ll be at the opening tonight up on the hill- hope to see some of you guys there!

would be even cooler if he said "CHOOSE" instead of obey. Since his big catchphrase was "A man chooses, a slave obeys" and he valued freedom, and man himself, over anything. He didn't like slaves (or people who behave as ssuch) at all!

Way too obscure. This man is an authoritarian figure in a formerly strict society collapsing on itself. That's all this picture could possibly say, and it's revealed in the game within the first five minutes.

Slow down for a sec- I think you're missing the fact that the entire point of this piece is that it's riffing on Shepard Fairey's 1989 street art campaign Andre the Giant has a Posse (thus the title), followed by his iconic OBEY stickers. This isn't just a generic propaganda poster saying "oh no Andrew Ryan is authoritarian", it's playing off of established modern social imagery within the context of Bioshock. It's a mashup. Give me a bit of credit.

I was responding to your author's comment, where you were worried that your poster might spoil Bioshock. Nothing in this poster reveals the twists and turns of Bioshock or the development of the character of Andrew Ryan, so I was saying your chances of spoiling anything is pretty slim.
