Description There's supposed to be a small rainbow. But it's too faint to really see it in this photo.

Thanks. I thought it wasn't a great angle. There was a few rocks on my left, I was trying my best to avoid going too near them as the waves were flying all over when it hit them. So I've got to make do with this angle.

Thanks!. But I hate it whenever I'm at labrador. It's always here that I get my knickers/shoes soaking wet with sea water. But when I'm at changi...I rarely got splash very bad.

And oh...I was also trying out a new tripod that I bought on the day itself. Very sturdy but heavy!. Even the strong waves hitting it, the thing didn't move/wobble an inch...except that it sank into the sand as usual when waves hit the shoreline.

The wetness comes with the territory, I suppose.

Congrats on your new tripod. Been telling myself to get a decent one as well, but keep delaying.

Haha..yup it is. Used to being soak but still it can get very irritating.

Thanks. Hehe...now I know what it feels like to get a decent tripod but rock solid!.

No more Benro's for me!.

Slik is definitely better than Benro. I'm referring to the one that is below $300.

Mine is the Slik Able 300DX. I wanted the 500DX, but it's way over my budget. So far so good, this Slik 300DX. First thing that I did when I bought it?. Go to labrador and dip it in the sea water. Well, not the whole tripod . Just the usual, splashing here and there.

i'll keep the Slik 300DX in mind when i finally decide to buy a tripod.

Ok. But just to let you know again, it's quite heavy...after you've carried it for awhile. It's about 2kg.

Shooter1970 In reply to nouffer [2009-03-09 16:55:46 +0000 UTC]

Yup . I was carrying it for a few hours during the weekends. After about an hour, I felt like it put on some extra weight. After I'm done with my walkabout shooting, I felt like dragging instead of carrying it.

But I'll get used to the weight in due time.

I'm more into shooting light these days. Tired of poking people with my light stand when on the bus or MRT.

Maybe I'm just getting lazy. lol!

Oh...hehe. If I have no intentioned to shoot sunset or night photography, then my backpack will be very light.

I wish I have your passion for nature photography. Sometimes it sucks to be itching to go out to shoot, but there is 'nothing' to shoot.

Shooter1970 In reply to nouffer [2009-03-11 14:08:55 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Well, I think you should know that nature photography need alot of patience. We don't have control on how the weather will be or whether the animals that we want to photograph will be there on the day we went out to photograph them.

I have a fair share of disappointment when I'm out and about trying to photograph the sunset and the weather turned gloomy. But, instead of going back empty handed, I try to improvised and photograph the bleak weather to my advantage or just come back some other day.

Passion and dedication.

Now...if I can just have a bit more TFCD.

Ya... I'm not a very patient person. hahaha...

Even TFCD is getting boring for me. Too many XMM models and bridal shots... I'm more inclined to taking more portraitures of ordinary people doing their own things these days. Success rate of the 'killer shot' is lower....but i do enjoy it more. I suppose its just a phase.

Oh..LOL!. Too many XMM?. Wow!...it never crossed my mind to do a protraiture of them. Maybe bridal but definitely not XMM.

So...if you want to go sniping people around town, do let me know. I will gladly join you because I have this phobia of photographing people when I'm all alone.
