For about half a year I've been wanting to do this. Time and time again I see people drawing gazes to where the eyes aren't even looking at what they should be looking at! I see this in professional work and cartoons as well and it just bugs me a lot. xD
I was going to do a lot more examples, but I feel these three main ones get it across.
Yes, all three are ones I have actually seen. I can understand if it's because they didn't notice until too late (as I do that a lot with my character's ears for some reason), but it surprises me with just how common this mistake is!

So the main thing I want to get across is to use your finger, a straight tool on Photoshop (or other program) or even a physical ruler to see if the eyes are going where you want them to! Sometimes it can be hard to tell with even that, so you just have to get the feeling that it's working.

And since this is about eyes, I decided to put that little extra part in about how eyes are. It's only relevant for at least semi-realistic eyes, even if they are anime eyes. There's also exceptions for certain other styles as well, but if you're going for a sense of reality it's best to have the pupils more "in" the eye instead of at the edge.

Note: please do not point out any mistakes with the body or head shapes as this is not about that!
