Description Tamamonomae is a Japanese Yokai monster folklore during Heian era(A.D.794 to 1185) in Kyoto.

Tamamonomae is a beautiful woman who served Emperor Toba at that time. She is actually a woman that Kyuubino Kitsune, the legendary Yokai fox with nine tails transformed.

Tamamonomae was adopted and raised as Mizukume by parents who did not have any children. When the age of 18, she grew up beautifully and started serving for the court as a lady, then she named herself as Tamamonomae. Emperor Toba deeply loved Her beauty and smartness.

However, Emperor Toba became weaker and weaker in bed. Court's onmyouji Abeno, Seimei found out that it was because of Tamamonomae. Seimei spoke out a spell and Tamamonoma turned back to the fox with nine tails and ran away.

Emperor Toba ordered the court to chase and kill the fox. Army of 80,000 soldiers went to fight the fox. After one retreat, soldiers succeeded to kill the fox. However, the fox transformed into a giant poison rock right after its death. Any human or animal came near the rock died by its poison mist. Then a famous monk Gennou Shinshou destroyed the rock, but the pieces of the rock flew away everywhere in Japan.
