"Hey.. I think we should just.. call it quits." he said, and his voice was dull and monotonous. You shift in your seat uncomfortably, unsure of how to respond. Your boyfriend, your third boyfriend this month was dumping you. He grunts and takes his glass of wine and sips on it. "It's not you, it's me."

'Yeah, right.' you thought out, fighting the urge to roll your eyes.

"No. It's okay," you then responded, getting out of your seat. "I totally understand. In fact, I was actually thinking the same thing. We weren't really having a healthy relationship, and yeah. It's just not working for me," you then take take out your wallet and placed a few dollars on the table. "It was nice meeting you, though."

He nods his head curtly, "You too."

You give him one last smile — this was probably going to be the last time you see him. You might not see him again, unless some kind of coincidence happens and you might bump into him with his next new girlfriend. You highly doubt that would happen, though. Once you break up with your significant others, you forget about them. Ignore them. And move on.

Easy as that.

You exit the restaurant quietly — and you notice that it was now dark outside. You sighed as you took out your phone from your purse and called the only person who you needed the most right now. Romano. The chocolate haired, olive-green eyed, handsome, Italian that cusses better than the sailor itself. He might just be the best person ever — and it wasn't long that you two became the best of friends in college. Of course, you were still best friends now.

You just didn't see each other often nowadays — considering that the two of you lived different lives.

He answers your phone call and he sounds sleepy, "Tha fuck do you want? It's 12:30 AM."

"I got dumped." you say — you wanted to cry, but you were currently in the public. It'd be embarrassing to cry in front of others. "Can I stay at your place? I really don't feel like crying alone. So I'm going to your apartment and you're probably going to bitch at me, but that's fine. I just don't want to be alone today."

"You're talking too fast, holy shit," he groans. "Okay. Fine. Come here safely."

"Thanks." and then quietly, you add, "I love you."

"I love you too, fucker. So just come here already."

You laughed as you ended the call.

You arrive at his apartment not too long after — and because it was in the middle of the night, there wasn't really any traffic, much to your delight. You knock on his door — Romano probably went to sleep — but you knew that he would answer the door. Romano was a light sleeper, after all. Unlike your other friend, Antonio, who slept like a bear during its hibernation.

He opens the door, thankfully, to see your make up all wounded. Your hair was just a heap of [h/c] mess, and your eyes were red and puffy from all that crying. Sure, you may be used to guys dumping you — but that didn't mean that you weren't sad about it. You were human too, and it was natural to get sad from this. It's part of being a human being.

"You look like shit." he mumbles, and he opens the door wider for you to enter. You sniffed and you stepped inside of his apartment. His apartment was always nice and clean, despite him looking like a messy person. In fact, his dorm during College looked pretty clean, too. The whole place smelled like Lavender scented air freshener, you noticed. He would always used to say that he liked the scent of lavender.

"Your apartment smells like lavender." you pointed out.

"It's a nice smell."

"It is," you walked over to his couch and laid on it lazily. You then grabbed one of the pillows on the couch and slowly, you started to cry — your sobs were slightly muffled from the pillow. Romano sighs as he walks over to take a seat next to you, not uttering a word. "Life is so unfair, Romano," you then say through your sobs. "I just wanted to be in a stable relationship. But no, they always dump me. I'm always the one getting dumped. And I don't even know why — they just do it."

"Do you want to talk about your ex-boyfriend and make fun of them?" he whispers quietly, as he slid his hands through your [h/c] messy hair. Somehow, that comforted you. "I also have ice cream. So before I give you a bitch talk, would you like some ice cream?" Romano then adds. You stopped sobbing and nodded your head.

He gets up from the couch and goes into the kitchen to grab a cone of chocolate ice cream — chocolate ice cream were always your favourite, and as much as he hated the flavor — he still bought it. Just in case you came running to him again when you were getting dumped. And that's exactly today's situation.

Romano comes out minutes later with a cone of chocolate ice cream in his hand. "Sit up. I have the ice cream." Lazily, you sat up from the couch and rubbed your eyes with the back of your hands and take the ice cream from his hands. Romano takes the spot next to you again and clears his throat.

"I spent three dollars on that shit." he stated. "For you."

"Are you going to lecture me or what?" you say, arching a brow at him.

"Fine. You want me to bitch talk?" No response. You were too busy consuming your delicious ice cream but he doesn't give you time to respond (Not like you were going to in the first place, anyway) and continues speaking. "You're an absolute idiot. Okay. I fucking told you that he wasn't the right guy — I mean, have you seen him? He looks like a big-ass douche. Your taste in men is shit. You're dead to me, [Name]. Dead to me."

"But—" he leans over and kisses your forehead, making you nearly drop your ice cream (But luckily, you didn't. Other wise Romano would have given you another 'bitch talk'). "—You're my best friend and I love you. Remember that, okay? And I don't usually say these kind of shit, so you better feel fucking grateful."

"Don't worry, I am." you say with a laugh and once as you were about to kiss his cheeks — he stops you midway, making you furrow your brows in confusion.

"Don't kiss my cheeks with that mess on your lips. I don't want ice cream on my face."

"Ugh, you're such a drama queen, Romano."

"Say that one more time and I'm kicking you out."

"Sorry."
