The grandsons of Pinkie Pie . Froyo and Rocky Road are very much related to the crazy pink mare of Ponyville. Their father is Berry Pie, the twin son of Pinkie.

Froyo (20 years old)

Don't let his charming smile fool you. Froyo is a lunatic.

You will not find a stallion in all of Ponyville with more disregard for personal safety, and it was this reckless behavior that helped make him into who he is today. Ever since he was a foal, Froyo has had an unbreakably impulsive and rash personality, stemming from a lust for danger and thrills. It didn't matter how dangerous something was. He'd do it. Rickety old tree? Climb it! Steep cliff? Jump off it! Dangerously thin ice? Skate on it, fall in, get out, repeat. Pain is just a motivator for getting stronger to him. Ironically, both he and his brother Rocky Road have inherited Pinkie Pie's "pinkie sense." Froyo just chooses to ignore his.

Froyo has broken nearly every bone in his body at least once and has had a tendency of breaking new ones while recovering from previous fractures. In a fortunate coincidence for him, he seems to heal relatively quickly compared to other ponies. Unfortunately for his parents, this just means that he has even less reason to practice caution. What's worse is his special talent and chosen profession: snowboarding. Froyo has an undying love for the slopes and has made a career for himself in extreme competitions. Because he pushes his limits much further than others, it has allowed him to bring home many titles. It has also thrown him into the hospital just as many times.

Froyo is a loud and spirited individual who has no concept of ponies around him. Inside voices don't register with him because he is so amped up, and he often doesn't know when to shut up. He does calm down when he has to, however, and to many ponies' surprise, he's actually a good-natured stallion. Sure, the wild hair, piercings, and shaved eyebrows, coupled with his untamed personality, all come off as signs of a madman (which he is), but deep inside the exterior of his unruly heart lies someone who just loves life. Froyo has an unshakable positive outlook of things and always makes the best of his situations. If you're having a bad day, Froyo will always be there to make you laugh.

He may be a crazy maniac, but at least he's a lovable one.

Rocky Road (17 years old)

When he was a young foal, Rocky Road looked up to his big brother. He always admired Froyo for his bravery and daring actions, and despite not having a room reserved at the local hospital, thrill-seeking action has been a part of Rocky's life from the beginning.

While Froyo's talents might have ended up with snowboarding, Rocky found competitions of his own with mountain bike racing, BMX, and extreme cycling. Though both brothers share a love for excitement, both have very different drives. Froyo strives to push his limits past the breaking point, no matter the consequence, but Rocky Road excels at what he does because he has a burning drive to be the best. For all the love Rocky has for his brother, Froyo was an unintentional sponge for attention all their lives, leaving Rocky with something to prove. Though he does not blame Froyo for being a constant center of attention, Rocky is dead-set in proving to the world that he is just as much a superstar in his field as Froyo, if not even more so because of his attention to risk and reward (aka not getting himself killed in the process).

Rocky Road is much quieter than his brother, though still loud in comparison to most others. He is both rambunctious and diplomatic simultaneously, knowing when and where to let it all out. Again, unlike Froyo. Rocky is fast learner and thinker who is quick to adapt to any situation, on the mountains slopes and off them. He has natural skill and trusts his own instincts, which gives him an boost in racing. Though he does feel the need to prove himself to the world despite his clear talent, Rocky isn't actually vain. He just likes getting attention that he has worked so hard to deserve. Beyond his competitive nature is a smart young stallion who enjoys the journey, just like his brother, father, and grandmother Pinkie Pie. He is goodhearted, driven, and a reliable friend.

DESIGN:

FROYO'S design is based on common colors used for Froyo business logos, with most employing green, pink, and an off-white. The white didn't work out so well, so I used a light green for his body color instead. He shares eye and hair color with Berry Pie and for a little added bonus, I threw in white highlights in the spikes as well. From the get-go, I wanted Froyo's look to be wild, so I pulled together a crazy assortment of designs for his hairstyle, facial hair, and eyebrows, while throwing in some piercings for added effect. I'm pretty happy with the result, honestly.

ROCKY ROAD employs a unique design for me as well. His chocolate brown hair is spiky and all over the place, similar to his brother's. To better show the Rocky Road part of his name, I gave him brown-tan spots. His hair style is jagged to show off the rockiness of his name. Like Froyo, he has bright blue eyes, passed down from Berry Pie and Pinkie Pie.
