I love seeing these two together! Nanu and Guzma make a fun couple with their outstanding personalities. If not the most outstanding personalities in the entire game.
Also, because of me over-analyzing their pokemon type specialties; it would make sense that bug trainer keeps teasing dark trainer. 8D And how the dark trainer accepts this in a (also typical) passive-aggressive way.

I agree! I love seeing characters together with unusual personalities/dynamics compared to whats normally seen. The fact that these guys are technically enemies but also neighbours is pretty great. I love that.
Man you are so right. I never considered how their types work against each other. I also love how they both seem to have a real pure obsession with their favourites; Nanu with all his cats and Guzma probably covered in bugs at any one time. I really like characters that seem to have a soft spot for pokemon that most people might find 'ugly'. Like 'This pokemon is strange but its my baby. Don't talk crap about my baby'.

Oh yes, absolutely! And maybe they also ended up choosing their pokemon because they can relate to them? Outsider pokemon for outsider characters.
Guzma also choose Wimpod, a coward pokemon, learned to handle it and kick butts with it, and I still can't get over how cool that is.
