Lucky lucky!!! I'd love to commission her for a black wolf mount, but those are pricey- have to save up for something like that! I'm currently considering commissioning her for a cross fox mount though; just have to find the right pelt

I mounted two heads of ranched foxes last evening and how I can see it, they turned out very well. They are my best work so far.

In SOME places they are nearly depleted o.o! and with modern technology now-a-days there's really no reason to kill them over 'livestock worries.' theres not humongous packs of them anymore ;^;!! don't wanna lose them like we lost the thylacine.
but like I said..if your life is in danger - then yeah...SHOOT DA F**K outta it! XD lol

Hahaha XD Yeah, I don't support the shooting of wolves either. This artist did say, I believe, that this animal had died from natural causes... so I can only hope that that's true. ^^

I'm unsure of the cause of Jynx's death. I think people are getting her confused with Comet, my coyote who did die of natural causes. I've never seen signs of trapping or bullet wounds, but I assume she was shot during a population control hunt. I've never found solid proof either way, but I can hope she died naturally XD!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of population control. I get the justification and the need for it, but certain areas don't need to be hunted in where as others do. I guess I feel like we as humans shouldn't go out and kill animals because of an inconvenience of having too many in an area. Nature, for the most part, balances itself out without our intervention.

Why don't we have our own population control? We're reproducing enough, you know what I mean? Why kill wolves, they have just as much of a right to live as us. I guess that's just my opinion, though...

There are way too many people on earth though, I agree. My views on that are quite cynical though. It's not like "BAWW HUOOMANS BAD KILL DEM ALL" but I think we should follow the laws of nature. If you're too old, sick or weak to take care of yourself, then...well...

That really does commend the artist who mounted Jynx though! I get so many questions about if she's alive XD! Glad you're chill with taxidermy cause my gallery has a decent amount of pictures of my mounts and pelts

My mom totally flipped out over Jynx XD! But I was moving out anyway so she didn't really mind afterwards. Plus I earned the money to pay for Jynx so she's 100% mine x3! Just the initial shock of "hey, what's in that giant box?" "Um...a...wolf...maybe?"

Same here, <3 I'm pretty sure Katie is the only one I'll ever have mount for me.
A few other Taxidermists do a pretty good job, but I had a kind of bad experience (I didn't get what I had expected) sooo, I'll stick with who I trust 100% c:

I'm with ya there XD! Of course there are other artists that I really love the work of as well! Katie's my #1 for personal pelts. She's so reliable and it really shows in her work that she cares about every animal she mounts

Yeah, I really like some of the work for some people, and it's a shame they don't do posable at all, or I'd be tempted to have them done XD And yeah, that's something I really appreciate in a Taxidermist, when they understand how much you LOVE the pelt and such, because they experience it too!

Because she's beautiful. I find a lot of elegance to the art of taxidermy and Jynx has been a HUGE help with my comic for realistic wolf reference for depth, perspectives, lighting and fur placement. She's not just some dead animal, a collectable or a toy. She's a teacher, someone I learn from the more time I spend with her. I respect her and treasure all the knowledge she has given me. I'm not disturbed by her presence. If anything, I'm humbled by her.

Yea, I know, but not if you sleep and suddenly wake up to come face to face with an animal so realistic,lol.
...which might explain why my parents stopped getting me realistic toys....despite my pleas for one XD
But anwyays, that's before, I actually want one like Jynx now...Except chances are my dad will think it's gross...as he always does, and freky...which is funny, coming from a dad who has a room full of very realistic body-less human heads from action figures...I can't go into his room without feeling like I'm in a haunted house...lol
