That's a good question actually! Hmm... I think scaley would be the most likely option, but I've always imagined it to be more close to human-like skin, only thicker. I really don't know...

Ah I'm glad it has the intended effect! What I like to do to improve my storytelling is studying manga that I like and scenes that I find cool. Then I try to figure out why they get their message across as well as they do, and try something similar.

Maybe I'll try this on my next mission or something, wehe~ It's kinda harder in storytelling because you have to struggle with your readers seeing in their minds whatever you're placing down on paper, ahh. Oh? Which manga do you read?

The manga that have been the biggest inspirations for me are Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece and Fruits Basket. FMA and OP have great fight scenes, and OP & FB lots of scenes that have made me cry. It would be great if I could do something similar. n_n
