Description
Our Trinity Blood cosplay at Lucca Comics and Games 2011, the most important con in Italy. Sunday Oct. 30th, the day our long awaited dream came true ^^Me as Seth Nightroad, aka Augusta Vladika, the Empress of the New Human Empire; Kinnara as Radu Barvon, Baron of Luxor. Photo by Jackomel ([link] )
Radu’s costume is all hand made by Kinnara
Seth’s one made by Kinnara too; paintings, decorations and shoes by me. The tuning-fork-like weapons are made by my boyfriend Akhan and me.
Resin gems, wig styling and makeup by me and Kinnara.

We went onstage with a mesmerizing fragment of the music “Prelude to War” by Bear McCreary. Martial, menacing, noble and somewhat mysterious… it had everything for a confrontation between the Empress and a conspirator. And we both loved it, so it was settled! ^^
This photo stays very true to the actual tones of the green and gold, and I’m fond of that twilight glow that bathes it.

Soorry for my being veeery faaaar from perfect >___< It was quite an improvised skit and if something can catch into something else on the stage, be sure that it will. But... maybe you'll like to see the costumes in action and some more details. ^^

Ho ringraziato in tutte le lingue il cameraman, sono contenta che così l'abbia potuto vedere anche tu. A parte le mie mancanze, sono stata contenta anch'io. Vedere i vestiti in movimento è tutta un'altra cosa... l'onore e la gioia che sono stati quella giornata mi rimarranno per tanto, tanto tempo.
(ohcommesifa a salvarlo? Voglio anch'io imperitura prova della mia scarsa presenza scenica XD)

It's an amazing costume!
I know you probably don't think the photograph did it justice but even with what I can see here it's amazing. You have done a wonderful job in capturing most, if not all of the details and what more important is that you've worn this costume well. I can imagine you as Seth on stage. And to have performed in front of so many people... oh, dear, it really must be a dream come true.
I saw the video, too. It's a wonderful choice of music, to be sure. And while it was short and improvised, both you and your friend performed very, very well with the intricate costumes you had to wear. I take my hat off to you, my friend. Brava!

Have my most heartfelt gratitude for your words, really. As we said earlier, the feedback of devoted and attentive people is especially precious. I say it doesn't give justice because... you know, a studio photo with a good photographer can enhance even simpler costumes, I'm sure ours would deserve some detailed shots. But that doesn't mean I didn't like this. I love when photographers are able to catch moments onstage, it surely isn't easy. I'm happy to have this, and that you appreciated the costume even without elaborate backgrounds or anything.
Thank you for seeing the video, too!! Now I'm really embarassed. >____< It was short because they allow just one minute for the couples' skits, and improvised because... we finished the costumes the night before. ^^' Glad to hear that it wasn't so bad! And that you appreciated the music, too. I didn't want anything too predictable for TB (as, you know, music for the anime or Carmina Burana pieces), and I wanted it to be menacing and with a good rythm for walking solemnly. This is from Battlestar Galactica soundtrack. ^^
By the way, is there any music that you particularly associate with TB? Just one of my curiosities, from fan to fan.

You don't owe me any thanks - I should be thanking you for sharing both the photos of the costume and the video to the rest of us! I am trying to convince myself that one day, eventually, I will be able to make an entrance (or was that an exit?) into a convention dressed up as a TB character. That day may never come, of course, which is why I put more time trying to recapture what I hoped to see on paper instead of ever trying it out on my person. Which brings me to come to pay tribute to people like you who not only attempt what I can only wish, but also accomplish the goal well.
I do agree with you, this costume definitely deserved a better photography session. And I might even say you two needed more time on stage just to do the costumes justice. But it is what it is; and for whatever it is I am already floored with what I have seen. It's not bad, not bad at all. (Besides, it's nice to meet another fellow BSG fan! Bear McCreary's music is dynamic and dramatic... I couldn't help but to smile when I heard it in the video!)
What kind of music do I associate with Trinity Blood?
Great question. I think of big, dramatic music when I think of Trinity Blood. BSG is a good choice, for sure. Other musicians that come to mind is "e.s. Posthumus" (this is "Pompeii" [link] ), E Nomine (this is "Mitternacht" [link] ) and Globus (this is "Preliator" [link] ) Besides... Beethoven and Mozart always comes to mind for some reason.

Diciamo che la musica ci ha aiutate moltissimo, e che Kinnara sì che ci sa stare su un palco (tra le sue mille doti è anche una ballerina bravissima), quindi ha certamente supplito alle mie mancanze. La prossima volta magari anch'io saprò gestire meglio la roba che avevo addosso, spero ^^ E spero solo che il video serva a far vedere meglio i vestiti, specie lo splendido gioco che faceva il mio strascico!

You already know that I love the series, but I think there are good reasons behind it. The story is majestic, extensive, with a lot of characters all very intresting. There's a complex dynamic in that futuristic world: war, peace and power are very well narrated, in my opinion. The manga starts very slowly, I didn't like it in the beginning, but I suggest you to give it a chance if it passes under your nose. And yeeeah it is stocked with gooorgeous men...... *____*
About the costumes... thank you! *___* I have the highest opinion of your tastes and attention so... *____* The exact reference for my dress are these [link] [link] ; the colours are the usual ones you can see on Google. Starting by a black and white-backlight mess wasn't easy, but I liked this one
