The colorized version really brings out the depth of detail in your work here. You notice the shading and the definitions of his face more and the color really highlights the subtleties that your first glance might miss while observing the pencil version. For instance, I noticed here that the color defines his cheeks more sharply and adds a greater contrast and angular appearance to his face, giving him a more lifelike appearance.
The colorization also seems to soften the picture in the same way it defines his features. My eyes are drawn to how soft his lips look, how lifelike they appear as well as the depth of emotion in his eyes. His hair also appears softer and his cheeks holding color really draw yourself to the perspective of his humanity, his foibles and mistakes and the human experience.
If that makes any sense, anyway.

Thanks! It doesn't take very long to colorize, and while I'm working on getting the hang of colored pencil it's a good way to play with skin tone.
