It's been a while I wanted to make a Dualscreen wallpaper. I've been working on this one for a bit of time to bring something worth looking at on two screens.Here is The Haunted Station that for me was a true challenge in terms of painting and composition. I decided to develop my painting skills and hope not dissapointing you guys.
Almost everything here has been painted and texturized with care to give the scene lots of credibility and atmosphere.
The work in perspective was pain in the ass as I combined three different points and decided not to work with pure horizontal lines.
The story if there is one: a haunted station wandering in the cosmos, abandomned through ages, until a space ship discovered it through a flashing light they saw far away, like an SOS. So they come for a rescue or maybe for their own death, lol!! (Too much influenced by Alien and stuff here, ah ah...)
In brief I truly hope you'll like it 'cause I put lots of time and heart in this piece.

No real stocks here except for bits of buildings I shot in London two weeks ago. All the rest is painting.

Sebastian, I've just been through all of your artwork, and on your website. Truly breathtaking and immersive - all fantastic stuff.
Only one small suggestion I'd make in terms of the realism - sometimes I think your space areas can be a bit too full. I think the closeness of some of the planets seems unrealistic, in that their gravitational pull would cause them to collide if they were that close. Take from this what you will - I'm no physicist, and definitely no artist, but for me, it detracts from the immersiveness when I see something that seems unlikely to happen. I know we're dealing with science fiction here, but everything in your work is extremely possible, so anything that takes the viewer out of that possibility is something to consider.

I like the idea of a haunted space station. It' too often that science fiction settings toss aside the supernatural and the religious... but the few occasions when the two intertwine tend to be frightening on a very unique level.

I had a dream in 2009 (No, I don't ordinarily remember them.), it inspired a science fiction novel I've been writing ever since. The scale, depth and the imagery of the distant planet remind me quite a lot of my dream, except that there is so much more light, and diverse light sources. However, I love anything that brings me back to the moment I awoke from that dream with the spatial force I felt then. I also love the texturing you've included. It aesthetically appealed to my senses greatly. Really lovely work. Thank you.

This might have been said before, but is the main planet in the background from Mass Effect/did you get inspiration from ME, or (almost more likely) is it just coincidence? I also realize I might sound like a fanboy at this point hahaha
