Hello, My name is Mini-Shu!

XD He is complete! Two weeks this took me, and boy was it a long two weeks... now, where to begin... Everything here is hand crafted with felt (minus the metal fastenings and the beads and buttons) and stuffed with polyester fiber. Not only is it hand crafted, but you can even undress him... YES UNDRESS HIM! XD I had alot of fun making Mini-Shu, and was so eager to show snap shots of my progress, but I didn't want to spoil the finale!

So, anyway, after making the vitakit a month ago, I wanted to craft something new, I was looking on Deviantart and saw all these other plushies and thought to myself, "I want a Spiral Knight plushie too!" And with that I decided to make a full Knight, and that I did. As I began my project, I decided to challenge myself, and take a step further and make him a dress up doll xD. All of his armor can be fastened together with snap on buttons, (Even his arms are Snap on buttons (never did get joints ) As you can see he's a bit taller than a girl scout cookie box, to be exact, he's exactly 12 inches (I'm surprised he measures to that exact height).

I came upon many challenges on this project. One being the whole plushie... I've never made plushie before, I didn't even know where to start...so... I used my head and started on the head which literally became the next obstacle. The head... I went on Deviant Art and Google to look at examples of Plushies, especially heads but didn't find anything I was really gung-ho about so I ended up improvising (huzzah) and just went with it. Now the head was beautiful. It had a great nose! *yes he has a nose!* And it was a very good size. So then, I started to work on the hood... This was my next problem... THE HEAD WAS TOO BIG!!!! I originally was okay with it, but my brother started complaining. So instead of remaking the Hood which I was already satisfied with, I decided to shrink the head, and even then the head was STILL too big!!! So I shrunk it again and then realized, it was then too small, =_=; (lol) So, since I couldn't really make it any bigger, I had to redo the Head...again... another problem was the body. I actually had to make patterns for the body, that meaning the arms, legs, and torso and attach them properly to give him a, well, a body xD. I then had to find a way to attach his limbs together properly. The hardest part about Mini-Shu was the cloak. This is actually the second cloak I made, (it is also the reason why I took so long to finish (I would have finished last week.) As I was crafting the first Cloak, I realized that it was much too small and was literally choking poor Mini-Shu. Not only that, but I now had some real brainstorming to do, especially on ways to undress him *blushes* and how it will all fasten it together. The first cloak I wasn't too thrilled on too, since I could see all the seams and what not, so, after much consideration, I went and striped the pieces and made them patterns to make into a new cloak. This this time (cloak #2) I made most of the pieces snap on pieces (almost like a puzzle). And from there it's applied in layers, which is much better than the first. His shoes were rather easy! I was so excited that I actually made shoes I literally got up to show my brother and sisters!
