I like the shading, but I'd love to see some more expression on his face, jst so you could really see the "fuck yeah look at me I'm killing a monster and boy is it tough!!".. Right now it's more like "meh, nothing I don't do every single day.... I wonder what's for dinner.."
Try to make him bend his body a bit more, to show that he's really fighting to push that blade through the skull of the monster, and give him a snarl.. Remember, he's not a little beauty-barbie, he's a mighty hero fighting monsters! Rawr!
Also, I love the monster. It's awesome ;D
