Savannah Calender Submission for 2016

Although I had something veeeeeery different in mind to draw (due to my 10th-years aniversary in the Savannah), my original sketch/idea didn't work as I wished to. Therefore, I decided to color a sketch I made several months ago. It was a very quick but neat sketch of my lion-sister Kiana and me.
Moreover, I decided to color this picutre with Poychromos this time. One the one hand, because I had fun working with pencils lately, one the other hand, because hand-colored pictures doesn't take that much time as digital pictures, due to the lack of details.
Actually, I Imagined a green meadow for the background and a very different setting at all, but for a Savannah Calender, I though a savannah-surrounding would fit much better.
There was no trouble in coloring the characters, but the background (especially the mountain and sky) was a pain. I mean I have fun drawing pictures, but sometimes I overcharge myself with the motive. In this case, I had trouble to blend in the blue colors very well. The grass was less tricky, because I have some practise drawing it.
The digitalized version of the drawing was edited in PS CS6 and looks slighlty different to the original. A cloud was retouched and the background was blurred a bit.
For the next drawing, I'm going to buy different paper. I nearly ripped the thin paper when pressing to hard with my pencil. Moreover, one can see the paper welling -.-

Nevertheless, I'm very glad to be done with this picture ^___^
The original will be framed with a tiny golden frame I repainted a few days before :3
