I LOVE this as a return condition as opposed to the standard 'get you wet and it's permanent' 'stay until you're used for the purpose' is a lot more interesting. The opposite would also be true 'stay as long as you're being used for the purpose' like a blouse that will keep them stuck as long as they're worn occasionally or a swimsuit that stays unless they forget to go swimming that summer.

It is nice. Reversing condition about water is interesting idea. Unfortunately it's make main use of swimsuit impossible, at least she can still sunbathe in it. Even if it will be accidentally wet she can simply keep it in bucket of water to prevent last condition.

I wonder if guys knew that he would transformed, was tricked or it was accident?
I also wonder what would happen if swimsuit would be damaged or taken to tailor to be modified for example into bikini?

Honestly, it's not just about "water" 
Idea was that transformation was voluntary and temporary, husband must be returned after some time. But... His wife could not resist a lure of keeping him this way 
And I didn't think about "damaged" idea

I don't remember any story where use made sex toy transformation permanent. Most cases it was either permanent from start, lost or owner decided to keep it like this.

When transformation was supposed to be temporary but there's no changing back I have scale of preference.
I least like it when it was a trick and owner never attempt to reverse change.
I like it more when it is like this here and after trying out new possession owner change his mind about restoration.
My favorite is when some sort of accident make turning back impossible. Like lost of a way to turn back. Accidental mishandling leading to irreversibility or lost, especially by third party. Or lack of knowledge that transformation was permanent.

And yes "voluntary and permanent" is cool, but I think it's not much "realistic" scenario

Most "realistic" for voluntary permanent transformation in my opinion would be situation where person isn't happy about it but agreed for some reason anyway.
For example:
-Consequences of losing very high stake bet or competition. Enough money would persuade people to take such a risk.
-Convict choosing transformation as an alternative to death penalty.
