Artstation | Facebook | Pixiv | Society6 shop | Twitter | TumblrI had sudden nostalgia urge, and started rewatching one of the first anime series I've heard of many years ago - Tenchi Muyo. Next thing I knew was that I wanted to draw space pirate Ryoko BADLY. And so this is the effect ^_^
It was hard to work with, I'm not used to using so many different colors at once @_@ Like... green, orange, blue, yellow, red... I think we're only missing purple. So it ended as colors galore hahaha. I might have blinded myself in process.

Thank you! Trust me it wasn't easy. I was constantly going between the choice of making the art more stylised manga-like or more paintery-realistic, and the hair were the biggest obstacle for the latter. But I decided to try something in between

It can be tough, there is one character that I draw from someone's story who looks like Ryoko due to a hypnotic brownie.

That hair is why I fell in love with her at a young age. That and the hotsprings that she goes nude to.
Although her hair in the recent anime threw me off for a bit, bit then it made me think of Ryoko as a really hot milf that I didn't know if I wanted as a wifu or as my mom because of how cool and kickass it would be or how kickass she would be.

I remember when I first saw the original series; she was my favourite from the moment she came on screen. Such a goof, but also a badass. Lovely work!

I think I'll go as far as to say it's one of the best. C: Ha. Now I want to pull out my old VHS episodes and watch 'em.. I do believe that's how I'll be spending my afternoon, today.
-- I do like how they balanced everything out, though. Not too much angst and sad, but not too much BS/comedic moments; it's very, very well written. I'm not sure about the newer series they've released over the years, though.. I saw glimpses and didn't know what to make of it. >_<

Tenchi Muyo was one of my favourite series when I was a teenager! I remember buying it on VHS ^_^ haha

Thank you so much! The series was a "hit" here in the beginning of manga fandom. And by hit, I mean, it was one of the easiest accessible english version, one of the firrst if not THE first vhs with polish subs for the movie version, and lots of articles in that one manga magazine that was active then xD

Jeszcze Mihoshi będzie po drodze, ta to ma śliczne kolorki: ciemnoskóra blondie z preferencjami niebieskiego. Pomimo ze durna jak but, nie mogę sie doczekać tego zestawienia
Jestem przyzwyczajona do raczej stonowanych palet, więc praca z takimi żarówkami to przydatny kop wyzwaniowy. Zawsze czegoś nowego się można nauczyć, no i pracuję przy tych pannach na bylejakim szkicu bo mi się lajnartów nie chce robić i oszczędzam czas ;_; .

Dużo lat, dużo. Seria swiętowała niedawno swoje 20lecie więc o czyms to świadczy. Robię sobie powtórkę, plus oglądanie tego co nie widziałam [OAV i filmy były dostępne na VHS, z serią TV juz dużo gorzej było i znałam z niej tylko opening] i tak mnie zainspirowało. Teraz siedzę i dłubię Ayekę

Ja już swój odtwarzacz i kasety vhs oddałam, pewnie można gdzieś w necie znaleźć, ale chyba wolę zachować swoje dawne wspomnienia i zachwyty nad tym anime jak miałam dużo mniej lat i dopiero zaczynałam przygodę z mangą ^^ Powodzenia, na pewno będzie piękna
