The concept of your photomanipulation is wonderful. I love the child resting against the angel stone. I also think the bare trees add to the feeling of it. Over all I really love your work on this piece.
However, I don't care for the texture against the manipulation. It makes it grainy, as if it was a bad quality, and it in my opinion it takes away from the photo.
The lighting when you look at it, it looks like it's coming from the ground not the sky. Maybe if you tried making it narrow at the sky and expand outwards as it's reaching down it would look more like sunlight breaking through clouds. (If that was what you are going for.)

I have posted a revision to this piece, and just so you know - I based it on your feedback and cited you in the artist's notes to be clear that you were reacting to a different version. Thanks so much - I think it's much better now.
I had to overcome some really harsh shadows on the statue that were tough because the resolution was super low to start with, but I think I managed it, and overall, I am much happier with the deviation.

Yay! This is awesome....
some of the edges (like where the girl meets the statue by her knee, and where the statue meets the ground) could use a little touching up...they seem too hard where the girl is concerned...and too jagged where the statue base is concerned.
Just a suggestion!
