Nice piece!

Quick question- How do you separate acrylic from Plaster of Paris? The plaster was the mould, and the acrylic is supposed to be the base and is removed at a later stage, except that every time I try to remove the plaster the two have bonded!

What can I do to help the acrylic slide off without breaking it?

Thanks~ c:

Separate acrylic from plaster, eh... Well.... No idea what you are trying to do... : D I'm imagining something like that you have a plaster mold, cover the inside with acrylics and cast another plaster thing inside there?...... Probably got it wrong, haha...

Or you mean that how can you get that acrylic layer off from a plaster mold?
If it's dry then it's permanently stuck there. ._.

But whatever you are experimenting with, sounds like you need something slippery between those two layers, I'd say floor wax is usually great for separating from plaster molds or Vaseline spray. Also I've heard that somehow covering the plaster mold with soap should work too, tho this method has never worked for me. ._.
(maybe need an extra thick layer of soap then.... <<)

Getting the acrylic off the plaster mould!
I was doing this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDAG7Q…

I ended up smearing a layer of vaseline on the plaster before shaping the acrylic, and that turned out okay, except I ended up plucking remnants of plaster from the acrylic with a pair of tweezers. Third time's the charm!

Ahhhhaaa, so that's what you're up to. : D

Hah, I thought you meant by acrylic the regular acrylic paint or somethin.... Heh.... xD

But yeah, seems like she has no probs popping them off without putting anything on the plaster mold... o.o
I suppose it's a matter of experimenting (maybe different brands count here too?).

Maybe it's the brand of plaster and the acrylic, and they've become best friends!

I used Plaster of Paris instead of Precious stone, so that might be it

Thanks for your help anyway!
