I saw it earlier today, the actresses did a decent role in this movie, and the cameos from the original Ghostbusters were pretty funny. While it's not as good as the original one from 1984, I still found it acceptable. This whole outcry that the internet threw at it reminds of when most bronies thought that alicorn Twilight and Equestria Girls were going to ruin the franchise, and were also proven wrong.

I still rather not see this movie. Β Don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with the female cast as I actually defended that from people who were being sexist. Β But seeing how many people within production and many journalists have just generalized everyone complaining, even the rational people complaining and not just the sexist ones as a bunch of misogynists which really isn't fair. Β Because of this, I just really don't want to give people like that my money. Β If they didn't react like that, I would go and give this film a watch. Β Another reason and I hear this from a lot of people who went to see the movie, both male and female saying that the movie is basically a man hating film which in return to the issues isn't a good way to regain a fanbase, and since I've been a victim of man hating, even to people I was nice to and trying to help, I really don't want to support something I hear from too many that does that. Β I'm a supporter for equal rights for all genders be they male, female, or trans, so to see something go against that just really bothers me.
I hope you understand my feelings on these matters. Β I do find your drawing awesome though.

I don't care for the fact they are female characters nor am I a purist with the Ghost Busters series who're strictly against reboots, I was just turned away at the regressive left influence the creators and the media used with the film to glorify it. I am sure even the voice actors themselves were annoyed of the medias regressive agenda, especially considering one of them (the black actor) even spoke against the media on a debacle over her character role.
Personally, I'd rather watch a pirated version on YouTube or something than go to the theater to watch it at this rate.
_____
Social politics aside, the character drawing here is superb.

I just don't like supporting sexist jerks, and just everything about the production and promotion of this movie comes off as just as such. Β For any fans who are being sexist about an all female cast, the production team and many journalists are being just as such without any consideration for the complaints of others who have more reasonable and valid criticisms. Β I will say however, if this wasn't Ghostbusters, I may not even be talking about it much, but I am since as a kid, I was a huge fan of The Real Ghostbusters cartoon and then saw the movie and also really loved it as well.
I don't think the original journey of Ghostbusters 3 helped either since there was a lot of hope for that, then Harold Ramis passed away which seemed to kill all hope. Β Then this remake is announced which I was mixed on as remakes usually pale in comparison to the original. Β When I heard it was an all female cast, I was still mixed, but a little more hopeful of this being a newer story compared to the original so it could stand out on it's own, then all this BS goes on...

I'd say the same on my end as well, Not so much the fan of the movies (though they were worthwhile) but I still loved the TV series as a child. The all female cast, I actually don't mind but so long as its done for the simple fun and not just to satiate some pro-feminist agenda as I've been seeing with a lot of female idolizing entertainment, even in the gaming industry.
It just seems people have forgotten the key value that makes games and movies so fun. For gaming - gameplay value, for films - entertainment value; suspense, comedy, tragedy, romance, drama).
I've been seeing more political agenda BS in more films lately, even the Deadpool movie was not safe from the mangina principal.
For gaming's case, its been mostly commercial gambleware transactions and pay-to-win models than the social agenda crap.

LordIheanacho In reply to Daiskida [2016-08-01 18:33:30 +0000 UTC]
Did you not watch the Deadpool movie?
Yes I know he was always the womanizer since the original comics, but in the film even he caved into the feminist peer-pressure. I never ever remembered him getting so afraid of hitting women if they are crooked thugs on his kill list, let alone seeking clarification that his actions are not sexist from the same women he's out to kill. That particular scene was just very distasteful and a moment of cowardice from the character. Overall Wade Wilson's personality became disappointing as it did not completely feel like the character I knew and loved from the comics; he still came off as this bad-boy mangina try-hard with incredibly goodΒ charisma andΒ acting skills - the movie version is only nearly as good as the comic one I grew up with.
Not that the film was terrible, contrarily it was still fantastic (for the most part but especially that bullet counting fight scene). The real problem is Marvel. They're still caving into feminist peer-pressure and altering their fantastic work to satisfy cry-bullies (though cleverly), like the Batgirl controversy and the Spider-Woman controversy - all of that because of the default traditional Spider-man pose reused on Spider-Woman. They're like the damn inquisition these days and Marvel shouldn't cater to any of them at all, especially if they are not buying their comics or films regardless. I sure wouldn't if I was making a film and I intend to do so perfectly with my current game.

Daiskida In reply to LordIheanacho [2016-08-01 18:47:10 +0000 UTC]
Yes, yes I did watch the movie.
Also, womanizer? Yeah, I dunno what comics you read but Deadpool was about as much of a "womanizer" as Wolverine being a Broadway singer. An you do realize that was the whole point of the joke and not some bullshit crap about "caved into feminist peer-pressure" since Deadpool was also about satirizing stuff left and right, but the again your entire argument is build on "He's not like he was in the comics", so I'd say it's became mute.
Yeah, I don't see much stuff revolving around "giving into feminist peer-pressure", also how do you know if this specific group isn't buying Marvels or DC's comics or even watching their films? Unless you have some magic eightball that can answer that, I'd say you my friend are full of it. Also, ya know I really hate this argument of "giving into feminist peer-pressure!" because it was the same damn argument people tried to use for Mad Max Fury Road and Force Awakens.

LordIheanacho In reply to Daiskida [2016-08-01 23:01:00 +0000 UTC]
I did not say they are not buying the Marvel comics, I said why should they bother caring to some regressive kids that don't like the way Spider-woman pose was, especially IF they are not buying it. I don't know if they are buying it.
If they are buying it but are easily offended over a very ridiculous reason they pressured the living hell out of Marvel to change it, than maybe the comics are not for them in the first place because Marvel actually had worse content in the comics from their old days, including Deadpool, its nothing new at all and that controversy also help defines the company brand.
If they are not buying it than Marvel definitely should not waste their time caring about it. They're own domain, their rules, their property. Not a democracy, its a dictatorship.
About Max Max Fury Road - I am well aware of the backlash it has received and I don't agree with it either but unlike the Marvel comics, the creators were not caving to pressure because the regressive said so. The writer IS an SJW (as he himself admitted, he is pro-feminist). No one had to pressure him to push such an agenda and adjust to feminized standards because he willfully did anyway. I never accused him of caving into the pressure, I just simply avoided the movie like the plague because I knew what I will deal with by the end product. I exercised my rights by simply refusing to waste my money and time on it. I wont even pirate it, I just wont touch it with a 10-foot pole.
About Force Awakens - I actually seen more complains about racial controversy more than gendered controversy, I am especially talking of John Boyega's characterΒ Finn. I actually agree that the anti-feminist crowd really screwed up on that one. The race thing was ridiculous. I also have not found evidence that the cast or the producers had any intentions of pushing any political agenda and shaming their opponents for disagreeing. However I have yet to watch Episode VII so I will when I get the chance.
