First of two graphite commissions for Thank you for commissioning me for these, this was a really fun change of pace. Also, thank you for suggesting trying to increase the contrast, it really made a difference I think. At first I was afraid of blending the darker colours in case I lost the detail, but it really gave her a lot more volume. Unfortunately, like always, the scanner is just slightly too small so I had to rely on my camera. Next time I buy a printer/scanner I will be sure to spend the extra to get a bigger one.Staedtler Mars Lumograph pencils 2h - 8b, Tuff Stuff Eraser pen, X-acto knife, tiny bit of white gel pen (to touch up the eye shine and whiskers), on Strathmore cold pressed watercolour paper in 140lb. 9" x 12"

Yet another innocent victim of what I refer to as The Teiirka Effect. He prowls the art websites seeking the best animal artists he can find, and commissions them for one of his evil Tigress graphite portraits. Somehow, the experience makes them... even better...

She is beautiful. I love all the detail, how every hair on her body is distinct and seems to be in the right place. The tribal designs on the antlers are also a nice touch.

I'm always so amazed at how well you command any medium you use. No matter what it is you give your work such incredible detail and intensity. I love how you even have the claws coming out through the fur with accurate detail. They aren't just generic claws they are obviously feline in how they are extended. I just love how you put that much thought and minute detail into your art.

Oh, thank you hun! The paws were a real challenge for me, being quite different than canine paws in shape and claws. I'm sure that a lot of the time I spent on the piece was on them!
