Finally back home after a pretty long and chaotic trip yet full of surprises.I got my painting knives back - which I use to prepare watercolour ground on canvas - so I'm happy I'll be able to paint more pieces like this one in the future (:

That is really amazing looking! I've never seen that technique before. Do you wet the paper first and then use the knives to apply the ground?

It's actually painted on canvas. I use knives to apply white watercolour ground or white gesso + transparent watercolour ground directly on the canvas, and 24 hours later I can paint with watercolours.

I've been there over 10 years ago and have some lovely memories. This year I've been to Ireland again, but didn't make it to Connemara. I hope to visit it again soon, it's a very rough landscape, but I adore landscapes like this
