Description
Here is a "draw-this-again" of a picture I made a dozen years ago (now in the "scraps" section). I gave the first version of the artwork and always regretted it a bit, especially as it depicts original characters from a story I was playing with as a teenager. So I made this new version as a gift for myself (:
I used the beautiful Allegory of Fable / La Fantaisie by Gustave Moreau as reference for the figures, and got inspiration from Stephanie Pui Mun Law for the background.
I also think visiting a great exhibition on mythological creatures a few weeks ago ("Les Animaux Fantastiques" at the Louvre-Lens museum) had something to do with it.
This is my last picture from 2023 and now I feel like to paint more fantasy sceneries this year.
