Well she's an Aussie but she's actually half Chinese, personally I wouldn't have picked it at all (surprising as I have rather an affinity for Asian models)

sure, just shoot me through any questions you have. It may take me a while to get back to you as I limit my time on dA, but I always try to save and eventually answer actual questions...

and
[link]
and here is the example which is not sure mine [link]
Can I request to please make the changes for me if possible all is up to you if you want to modify at your own style. Because I want to gift a full size print to my wife on her birthday.
Kind regards,
Thanks Deepak

Hi Deepak,
I'm sorry but what you are asking there is a great deal of work, even for an image that has been shot specifically to be altered in such a way. A piece such as the one you link to is the result of a careful combination of lighting, framing, posing, composition etc with hours of post production work.
I could certainly improve at least the first of the images of yours (the one that is the clearer of the two) but a/ there is a limit to what can be done with it given that it is a snapshot taken with poor on camera flash and b/ it would take many hours of work, which I charge by the hour for.
Sorry but I just can't work for free.
I hope you understand.

Hey Deepak,
I don't do too much retouch work for others but when I do commercial stuff my rates are $100/hr
For more personal individual work like this without production budgets I would prolly look at halving that. So $50/hr US. I'd budget about 1-2 hrs to bring a shot like that up to it's potential.

great shot - my question: bare flash stage left and right or strip lights? (softbox/ambient for fill?)

those mirrors would be a mixed blessing (fill, and near uncontrolable relfections).

Yep, hit the nail on the head there. I used to have access to two well setup studios but one went out of business and the other decided to increase his prices 6 fold, yes he actually charges 6 times as much as he used to.
When I'm really serious about a studio shoot I hire out a local city council hall to setup in but as half the gear is permanently set up at the dance studio I just use that most of the time as I'm a lazy prick.

sounds like a fair compromise - i'm getting tierd of hiking every tiny little thing i 'may need' but never use, to on location shoots. The light stands, the umpteen umbrellas, clamps, counterweights, cameras, lenses, laptop etc. And i don't even have monolights - so I can totally understand just shooting where it's easier to do so.

Well I shot it back in December or so so it's not really new, but yeah, I need to get more work up here, been slack.
Lighting setup I'm not 100% sure on as it was so long ago but I believe it was an octabox on each side of her with whatever made it back from the mirrors behind me (I shoot in a dance hall) for fill.
Cheers mate

there is a very sculptural quality to her body that I like.. what is the dusty/smoky stuff? it must have taken many tries or very precise timing to get it positioned so well!

Cheers mate & unfortunately I don't think that will happen. After this shoot her boyfriend threatened to leave her for shooting nudes (don't get me started on pricks like that)
