Done on 1 Apr 2014This is a picture I made as a gift for composer and musician extraordinaire, Arjen Lucassen.
I had the idea for the pic after I listened through his latest 'Ayreon' album, 'The Theory of Everything' for the first time. It's about a young man, 'the Prodigy', who wants to change the world by creating the ultimate equation, AKA the theory of everything. But, to do so he has to overcome his mental limits.
I've been a fan of his work since Ayreon: The Human Equation and Ayreon: 01011001. Arjen writes beautiful and powerful music that you can just get hooked on to no problem. And his Ayreon projects feature several famous and talented metal singers and musicians. Yeah, I did send him the picture and he said he likes it! I remember the moment I saw his reply, it made my day! I honestly didn't expect a reply from him. He's such a nice, down-to-earth guy, who actually spend time talking to his fans when they reach out to him. Really love that about Arjen.
