Description 344 pages into A Storm of Swords 2: Blood and Gold, and Ned is STILL my favourite character.

Expect more Starks in the coming weeks...

I'm rather taken with this little portrait and the other ASoIaF painting I did on the same day, because just this once I'm happy with my colours. I used Winsor Red Deep to mix my greys, and the result is so much better than any I ever got with Rose Madder. It was also one of those rare days where I felt as if I knew what I was doing with watercolour. Could it be that I'm finally getting somewhere? (That's probably too much to hope, though...)

Faber-Castell PITT pens + Winsor & Newton watercolours in a watercolour Moleskine (12,7 x 20,4 cm).

I still have this series on my "To Read" list. The beautiful fanart that I'm seeing here--like this one--have me very curious!

Watch out, it's VERY addictive! I stopped reading only once, because I was done with book one and my other volumes hadn't arrived yet. Since then, I have been devouring one volume after another. I haven't read a newspaper for three weeks!

Thank you for the nice comment !

Lovely expression, and great color harmony. He actually looks as if a biting winter wind had been in his face...

I'll use any excuse to paint red nosetips ... Fortunately in this case, it's warranted.

Colour remains difficult for me. I rarely feel that I got it right, but this time I am happy.

Thank you for your kind words!

I REALLY love this! Much more as I'd pictured him in the book than Sean Bean's Stark (though he's EXCELLENT). Really lovely work!

Thank you! I haven't seen the tv series yet (it's on its way from Amazon as we speak), but I loved the book's description of Ned's long face . I love drawing him too!

Fantastic color work, especially around his cheeks.

That's funny as I'm learning to use more XD
I can see that though. You work is much more controlled and precise (in a very good way!)
