Commission for an anonymous user.An illustration of a relatively unknown game called Yume Nikki ("Dream diary").
Despite the lack of a clear objetive, aside from collecting "effects", the game is very good. The stages are incredibly interesting and eerie.

I've seen this image many times and until now I still love it. I've always felt that Madotsuki appeared more like this than a mindless slayer of abominations or simply psychotic. Well, for me, at least, she certainly harbored more than mere apprehension and shallow sadness.
She was just a girl.

I wish someone would make some kind of crossover of Yume Nikki and Cry of Fear. Both protagonists (Madotsuki and Simon Henriksson) have been mentally traumatized and both see horrific things and must fight their way through frightening scenarios, and they have signature items (Madotsuki=butcher knife; Simon=mobile phone)
