And yes,he's not the typical crazy-evil badguy...he's crazy,sure,but serious and kinda mystical when it needs to be.
It kinda strikes me as an anti-hero,rather than a villain.Wait and see

Makes me almost wonder what would happen if what Bob from ReBoot believes in could apply here. That normally a virus can't go against its code, but if that was changed, they could be benign and possibly non-viral.
Hell, maybe have a smaller parasitic infection be the reason he is the way he is, have that be removed, maybe have him turn out to have been a heroic character in the past.
