Description
I needed a break from something i was working on for days, so this was it.Β Nothing special, just a mediocre exercise result. I'm not here to impress as you can see, there's nothing creative about this, just threw everything what looked good in my eyes. Do any of you do that sometimes when you're not in the mood of something complicated??
Also am i the only one who works on something and focuses on one thing in the artwork so much that eventually i'm so fed up that i need to move on to some completely different all together and come back to that later on? Cuz it happens to me a lot.Made use of some recent frames from the stock images i posted just a little while ago.Β

Even if you say this is more of an exercise, I think it's pretty amazing! I really like the colours and all the elements
Oh and what you said about getting fed up on an artwork because of focusing too much on it, happens to me as well, but usually I get so frustrated that I don't get any creativity to start another one until the other is finished. So you being capable of doing so is amazing! It's a great way to focus on a new artwork so you come back to the old one feeling refreshed (If only I could do that haha).Β

I've checked some past works, you've improved a lot.
Although my gallery is filled with scaling stuff I'mΒ into traditional art (pencils and ink) and intend to start learning digital painting this year.

I don't think i improved really. It's more like, i'm venturing into different things. I have the skills, i just don't always have the patience.
Also i'm not great at drawing. I can do stuff but it's not free flowing and digital painting is a whole other beast. I wanted to learn it at some point, but it's just a different technique for which i have no patience as well, so i use it sparingly where i need it. These sort of works don't involve a lot of it so i usually get away with using as little as possible.

Well... Trying new things is a path to improvement, but I understand the feeling of being stuck in time, not evolving enough to be noticed (at least by oneself). The patience issue I believe has something to do with aging. Each year I feel less and less motivaded to learn things that seems complicated at first sight. And I'm just 31.
I wonder how things will be when I reach my parents age.Β Β Β

i don't think it's age, i never had patience with things lolΒ but everyday stuff totally has effect on how motivated you are or more like the lack of it. I know i had more will to do things before i went on i got a goddarn job lol

This is lovely.
And yeah, it's with the big pretty artwork in which you pour out a lot of love and attention for details and painting and yadda yadda. You put so much on it you gotta leave for a sec. I got about two of those on hold right now because I'm sick of em.
Anyways, this looks beautiful and I specially like the hands. Great skill.

The problem is, though, in the end result the details get lost because you don't usually display it in full resolution. So it kind of ends up being a bit of a pointless focusing. But yeah, it can become something you might not even want to touch for a week or two.Β

It might be merely an 'exercise' for you but for me this is a truly very excellent piece dear Gabrielle. The painted hair, the effect on the ribbons and her dress is impeccable! Terrific work my friend, amazingly done.

Aw, thank you. But yeah it is just a "killing time" piece. Also i didn't paint the hair, i overpainted a few parts but that's about it. I only paint in what's missing after cutting the figure out and overpaint parts to enhance the texture. That's all.Β
