My Murphy is getting pretty old. Unfortunately his health issues aged him rather quickly the last few years.

He is though he gets cranky when one of the younger dogs takes his sleeping spot.

We believe Murphy is between 6-7 years old. he had a horrible illness a few years back that caused a severe infection and he gets seizures every now and again. He has to take medication every day to limit how frequent they are but for awhile it was a few times a day. not its every couple weeks to a month (full moon seems to have some affect). but its caused him to gain alot of weight, hes not as active as he once was, and hes starting to get grumpy and slow. being part lab, their life expectancy already isnt too high.

Poor boy, the upside that he's obviously well cared for and loved alot. How long do labs live for?

Average life span on labs are 10-14 years. All labs my family had was closer to 10 years. He is the first with major health issues though.
