I've been waiting to submit something until I have a piece that I'm actually completely happy with, but I realized that if I do that, I'll never submit anything again. So here it is... enjoy.sort of a companion piece to Sandcastles

The texture does it for me here, as well as the predominantly warm color palette. Yet you seem to sneak in just a hint of blue to balance it out. Lovely

The quiet dreams of something strange drifting over an endless range; never knowing whether to stay and watch this end, or find another dream to tend? They go on to meet the sky venturing over the land on which they lie; a road for now diverging into streams once gone again converging; dreams both violent and tame - once over the horizon they're both the same. Just give them time to adjust to overcome this wanderlust; they may not ever come to end but keep running with the wind. Never to pause and ask why but rather to just look up to the sky; into clouds still paper-white the dream spreads its wings and takes flight.

My immediate reaction was one of empathy. This is a lovely picture that pulls at that nagging feeling of helplessness and possibility (mixed with much dread) in me, but with a dreamy feel. I love that the person is still partially entangled in the bedsheets, as if they are just waking. The cracking wall is a nice touch; it provides a transition point between the tangibility of the bedroom and the doorway-floating mystical space.
I get a small thrill every time I look back at this. Beautiful use of color. I feel a jolt of fear and sadness when appreciating this piece, though I think it's meant to be uplifting. I feel like I'm going to pitch off the end of my solid earth and into doorway after doorway to nowhere.
