Description It's been a long time since I've done one of my 10 Free Sketches, so here's something new. ~DarknessGivesLife asked that I re-draw his 'toph earthbender' [link] for his free drawing. I must say, I am very pleased with how this turned out. This ranks right up there with my first Toph drawing [link] , in my opinion. The extra effort really was worth it. Hope you guys dig it as well.

How long? I'm not sure, but several hours at least. The shading is what really takes the longest.
As to where I'm from, I live in Michigan. Right now I wish I was someplace cooler. It's too warm right now.

warm...? lucky u.. we were suppose to have summer here in denmark.. but the weather totally sux. it rains or storms constantly,.. *sigh* but maybe when i begin going to school again.. the weather chains.. it usually does. (just typical!) shading.. i have tried to drwa some toph figures today.. but i am not the greatest at drawing figures from cartoons.. i am best at doing my own fiction figures.. i haven't ever tried to color any figure without crayons.. or colorpencils.. so i don't know if can overcome trying it out on photoshop.. but they would be soooooo much better with colors and backgrounds..

i am from ikast (jylland) well.. u can look it up if u wan't to.

That's cool. I think I might know one or two other people from Denmark here on dA. It's cool to make friends from other countries (and yes, you can call me friend if you like ). Can't say as I'm familiar with Denmark itself, but I see that Ikast is smack dab in the middle. Too bad we can't swap our weather. We could use some rain over here, it's been pretty dry.

I see you're fairly new to dA. I was curious to see what your work looked like, but you hadn't any posted yet. What kind of style do you typically work in? Realistic, anime, toony? Just curious.

well i would say anime.. i have tried for like an hour or two today, drawing toph.. not easy, when i haven't drawed her before. i have also tried some beyblade.. but have found it impossible to draw tyson.. so it is only kai so far. but i'm gonna post some next week. have some i have been drawing the last couple of days.. been all hooked up since i joined da. (got super envy on everybody) but i haven't drawn i years.. but i have a style between realistic and anime. but mostly anime, u know with big manga-like eyes, and stuff like that. i don't know if u'll like it.. but that's is just my style i guess. but next week. (because of my scanner - it is evil, iam sure it is possed!)

Really well done, Andrew. I love your Toph, and this is a perfect example of why. Isn't it fun drawing cartoony characters in your own style? I love it! Seeing your Avatar stuff was part of what inspired me to do the big poster I'm working on, so I've got you to blame. Very well done, here!

Can't say that I have. The show is okay from the few episodes I've seen, but not that funny in my opinion. I will admit that whole Illuminutty episode parodying 'National Treasure', 'The Da Vinci Code', and such was pretty good. Personally, I'm more of a Family Guy fan. Anyway, I digress. Probably not American Dad, but Family Guy I might consider drawing. That, or Futurama. I think I could have a lot of fun doing Futurama.
