Description
As part of the Stephen King concept [link] I'm working out, here's Pennywise from 'IT'. If I can help it, I like to make close observations so I can draw these characters as accurately as possible, which means taking tons of screenshots. I've already done 'Children of the Corn' [link] , though I may do a more detailed drawing of Isaac, and I plan on doing several others. So expect to see more Stephen King art in the future.Related content

Excellent work! It's been a while since I finished the book and I've yet to watch the film, so forgive the possibly silly question, but is this design based on the movie or book?
It's wonderful, either way, however. I absolutely adore all the details in this, even if these are "just" sketches!

The design is based on the movie. I'm afraid I haven't read the book, but I'm a fan of the story regardless. And Tim Curry makes an excellent evil clown.

Ooh, I recommend you read the book, then! Especially if you're into disturbing descriptions of gore; the book doesn't lack those at all.
Though I haven't watched the movie, I agree about Tim Curry, he makes an excellent evil anything.

I had considered it, but the thickness of the book was daunting. Besides, I heard there were a few disturbing things in the story that were left out in the movie.

There's some... parts that make you cringe but there's also some really good parts they left out. It is so well worth the read.

Oh God, EXTREMELY disturbing!
You know how in the film all the deaths are mostly hinted at, never fully shown? Well, in the book everything is described in detail, no matter how gruesome. Its not very pleseant to read about a boy who suffocates his own baby brother and is later eaten alive by flying leeches, all within pages of each other.
I like the film's layout better, anyway. "It" was one of the few book adaptions that I can tolerate better than the book.
Now I hear that the Sci-fi channel is making a remake. If they do, they better have Tim Curry again.

You probably will be able to, or it will come out on DVD like the orignal did,
I'm only a little worried because the Sci-fi channel is really violent (they will no hesitate showing a man getting his skull mushed in two). I don't want the deaths in the new It to be gory, the fact that we were shown so little of the actual deaths was what made them creepy in the first place.

Great job! It's funny how this is how everyone sees him like this now, but he looked nothing like that in the book, lol. Oh well, he looked mighty awsome in the movie and I'm a big fan of the guy who played him

lol I used to be like that to, but if you ever get the time you should definately read "It", It's well worth it, except for the one chapter that drags horribley listing every freakin item in the dude's medicine cabinet... that was overkill. Everything else tho... really good stuff. And yes, Tim Curry rocks every movie he does
