Description This was an idea I had when I saw some of the paintings of Gustav Klimt, specifically his work 'Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I'. The eye patterns of her dress reminded me of Alucard from the Hellsing anime/manga. Then recently on the History Channel I watched and recorded the special 'Lost Worlds: The Real Dracula', which made me think again of this. So I sketched out this concept I had for a potential piece of Vlad Tepes where he's wearing armor and carrying a pair of weapons, a mace and a spear. The spear is obviously because of his preferred method of killing: impalement. The mace I used because of an old painting of Vlad holding a mace or morning star. One interesting thing I found out was that there are a kind of flower called Dracula orchids and an even more specific species called Dracula vlad-tepes. So I thought that I would have them grow around where the blood is trickling off of his spear. Anyway, there are more concepts behind this sketch, but I won't bore you with them.

This is a very interesting sketch and the amount of work you've already put into the planning is impressive. The amount of symbolism is intriguing.

I tend to do that with some of my art. I'm glad you find it interesting.

Well, definitely. Seeing this as a more finished piece would be great, but it's snazzy enough as it is.
