Description A very restless White Marble who finally agreed to pose for a photo after I had followed him around for a considerable time (everyone who goes hiking with me must be either very patient or crazy ).

Here you can see how a White Marble looks like with its wings closed: [link]

Thank you so much! I thought it was really worth the hike, too - it was the first time I ever managed to take a photo of a butterfly.

very nice shot...and from a biologist or very passionate nature lover, when you deal with latin names
it is just a bit too big for small monitors most of us have

Thank you! Hehe, no, I'm definitely not a biologist! Fact is, all my field guides on butterflies and nature are in German, and since using the German names probably wouldn't be much help to anyone around here I've decided to use the Latin ones. Sorry for the big size of the picture! I wanted every detail to be visible, but I didn't think of the problems this would cause. I've changed the size now.

well i'm not good in English names either, and i don't even know Croatian ones frequently but i'm biologist and nature lover. when you give latin name, anyone can google it and find a common name in their own language, if there is one
as for the picture size, i used to do it too big myself, but then i realized i wasn't thinking about people with slow connections and low res monitors. resuolution for web should be 72 ppi and optimized for web in PS - minimizes opening time. and as for the width, i max it at 900px (used to do 800 when i had different format camera), so most of the monitors may show it in full size.
