Description A point in time where long distance space travel resembles a mere trip the the corner grocery store.

My entry into the "Eternal Reminiscence" contest! [link]

----------------------- Notes From the Artist -----------------------

This piece is a true example of how something small turned into something big.

Originally this deviation started off at the center planet as a part of my "SilkAssassin's Planet Resource pack" as seen here [link] .

Then I thought "Hey, I haven't made a planet with rings on it in forever, lets try that!" Then came "Hey, I haven't ever really done a super bright sun before either!"

Anyways, everything unfolded and I ended up making warp gates (yes, I made those using the line tool and a size ONE pixel brush! ) My main base of this idea was from the anime Cowboy bebop (the memory of the anime came after the initial warp gate idea). So I needed a ship to use it, so I used a model that I have.

Before post processing, there wasn't ANYTHING below the main planet ring.. it was just irking me to have so much blank space, so I pretty much spent another 2 or 3 hours and 20-30 or so layers to add the large planet (Echelon, out of my planet pack) and modify it, to make the moon and the little nebula off to the left of the large planet.

The title of this this piece is based off the song "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazarus. I was playing some GTA4 with a buddy and this is on the station "Liberty Rock."

I certainly appreciate any comments/favs. I put a lot of time and thought into this piece and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Fullview/download is a must to see the many details.

This looks pretty sweet - a little crowded, I must say, but still cool

Wow, this is impressive work. You've given a lot of effort on this one, so I don't understand why there is no more praise and comments on this. People should understand that dealing with pieces like is not just pressing 'add a good pic'-button.

I like the way you've build up the whole scene. I like the colour palette used on this and the amount of things in the picture.

The planets on the bottom seem a little flat, though, especially the big one. You might want to reconsider the colouring and shades on that one.

Interesting work! I like the colours, and how they tie together. However, the image almost seemed to crowded for me. However, it is still a fantastic work of art!
