Sadly, my wardrobe lacks purple of any sort. they were giving purple ribbons out at school, so I wore one of those.

I feel the same way. Love is love. And people shouldn't be judged or poorly treaten just because they love someone who's the same gender.

The world today...it is filled with so many things...and so many opinions...no matter what, not everyone will be pleased. Thus, some conflicts leads to violence...and I don't like violence.

76% of americans feel that they should be maried. Make sure you have current correct nonbais statistics. Most people in Brookings are against it now that's a different story. If you push for change to hard you'll do more harm than good freshman. You have to go about fixing social anomilies like these slowly so that people are comfortable with changing the way things were... O.o

Anime Club is dieing because gay marrige isn't legal? Just like all culture and social groups if the anime club dies I'd think it would be more because it wasn't strong in the first place more so than the passing of a gay rights law. Oo What are you going to do about it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SillyEwe In reply to FinalMassacre [2010-10-08 18:17:55 +0000 UTC]

Nonono. I'm saying that Anime Club is dieing because of the lack of culture here...

Ok... So lets go over what makes clubs liked at a highschool.

Now when I was in school it was all about what things the club did outside of school too. What can you do to make the club more inviting to other non anima fans? You have to bridge a culture gap and make it more apealing to non anima club members?

A good example of this would be gaming events and tourniments. Also food is a big one selling food at the school. You can also show non anima movies at the club and put up posters showing that. Assimilation is the big word we are going for here. Show that the anima club is not "Different" different in the sense most people look at it is in fact a bad thing. Like I said show the simulatities that you have with the "Normal studnets" Don't always point out what makes you all different.

Another thing you have to do is learn and understand steriotypes and different memebers in your club. One thing we all have to understand is there are people out there who get picked on. There are lots of "Possible reasons" We have to know the real reasons? Now what gives anima a bad name isn't so much the anima... It's certan specific traites that people assert to people who like anima. Yes there are normal perfectly likeable people. But hey I'm not gonna be nice here I'm gonna be honest. There are people that quite frankly I can't stand that love anima too just like everything else, and some people just go about it all wrong. There's one thing as a leader you have to understand. "Everyone is equal... But some people are more equal." To get people to respect you and your club more show that you are a pretty dang good carbon copy of them. Not everyone is ready to take a person in their entierty at once to some people the thought of doing such a thing is exausting.

I know you can do this. I know it seems like alot but if you get started now you might be able to save your club and increase the appreciation and tollerance for the anima club. One major thing you have to keep in mind is do this in baby steps. You can't force people to change their minds or lable people as immature for not respecting you. Do it on a week to week basis with one goal in mind.

I'm sorry if this seems like alot I didn't know where you wanted to start. I'd love to talk about the ideas you have to fix this problem you have with you.
