I thought from the thumb that it was some deep metaphorical picture--then I saw the tooth in hand....I think it's still metaphorical, though--this his how wisdom-teeth pain [and/or extraction!] actually feels....

I am glad I 1) never had much trouble with them and B) had them all extracted in one visit (I was chicken--had them do complete anesthesia...) Did you get them taken care of, yet?
