[link]I'm suprised no one drew one of these yet, or perhaps I've not seen any. My friend was very disapointed when he found out he would not be killing mantis men.

You know, I wonder if the DNA injections affected their minds, or if they were still human inside. Imagine getting gunned down by your colleagues, trying desperately to communicate that it was all right, and that you would probably be of great use to science like this.

I have an idea for Half-Life 3, set a hundred years after Portal 2, where a "defrosted" Adrian Shephard fights an emerging GLaDOS. The mantis men would be under GLaDOS' control (to a not much greater extent than headcrabs were under the Combine's control), and they'd look something like this:
*Compound eyes made of hu-man eyes
*Scything claws instead of hu-man fingers
*Instead of mandibles, a hu-man jaw, complete with hu-man teeth
*Something with an uncanny resemblance to hu-man skin can be seen through the gaps in their exoskeletons
