Description all photographs used for backgrounds are my own (and from areas around my house! I live in the woods) see them here [link]
it wasn't "lazy" to use these. I took the pictures, scanned them, and altered the heavily to fit in the panels.

Ivy Saint is not a rip-off of Poison Ivy from Batman, instead she's based on fairy myths where a type of fairy is connected to a type of plant. And this Ivy is not poisonous, she only contols vines... and can climb walls and trees. She's a type of ivy you'd find on an old brick building.

A BIG FIGHT lasting several pages will follow between Ivy and Zelly (the vampire).

if anyone wants me to, I might offer a higher quality picture of page 60 for a print

Alright! Killer fairy!!

I'm actually trying to alter the image of fairy so to speak in a story I'm currently writing. Like...not Disney...but better.

I haven't got the story on here, though....maybe later.

I love Ivy! I can't recall ever seeing a badass "I'm gonna kill you" fairy before...

Maybe because you're used to seeing Disney-fied fairies. There's plenty of mischievous fairies in old English and Irish legends. (Even the original Tinkerbell had much more attitude than Disney gave her).

Ivy is mostly influenced from the works of Brian Froud.

If you've ever seen the movie "The Dark Crystal" he did the designs for that. If you haven't, I think you'll like it.

I kinda like Disney's Tinkerbell's character design. Margaret Kerry had that cute and sassy look down pat.

But yeah, British fairies were something else entirely. While they're admittedly far more badass than anything Disney would present, keep this in mind: [link]

Har. Not all fairies drank blood, just a few.
The fairies in my story are plants.... they stick their root-feet in the ground and soak up what's there, along with some water and sunshine.
Ivy happens to like humans, but the other fairies, well...

I don't think it's right to deprive Zelly of a well-deserved meal. Just saying.

Oh, all the other vampires can go get a tan for all I care. It's just that Zelly is incredibly adorable.

LOL @ "go tan"

I was trying to design her to be ugly... what with the swampy green hair and piranha teeth. I guess I failed in that.
