How do you get the those fine details on the lips, nose and eyes properly? P: The model looks fantastic but that's one thing I get stuck on with Blender P:

For packages like blender it's pretty impossible to model extremely fine details. You almost certainly have to use some kind of map. Either a bump map, normal map or a displacement map. For this model I used a displacement map that I generated in Zbrush.

Hey there, so generally models have to be specifically made for whatever medium they are intended for. You would either create models for games, film or illustration. Game models need to be super light with the details coming mostly from the textures. Models for feature film can have a much higher poly count but everything still needs to be nicely organized and the extremely fine details will require maps.
This model was made for a single still shot. The topology is a mess and can't be animated and the poly count (vertices) is extremely high, so it isn't suitable for either game or film animation.
As to your second question, I would look up to find what the maximum poly count per character your game engine can handle and work from there.

Well done. It makes me think of Hermione at first sight. Well, the title helped, that's true.

That's good, 'cause I wasn't basing it on Emma Watson, so I'm glad the character is still recognizable.Β
