Layla Doyle and Daye TeavaThis idea popped into my head right when I was about to go to bed the other day. I quickly scribbled it down on like a two inch square.
I really like the visual differences between these two because they are mother and daughter. They're both drawn here as teenagers (thus why I said her name was Layla Doyle and not Teava).
I also drew this completely on the computer as I usually do sketches in my sketchbook and then scan it in. I feel pretty happy with the drawing.

OOOOH!!! Love the textures in the hair! Reminds me of the style used in the anime Gankutsuou: Count of Monte Cristo!

LOL. Yeah when I was finished I thought it had a very Gankutsuou feel as well. It wasn't what I really intended. Originally I was just going to do flat colors of black and white, but I felt it was just too harsh. So I decided I would add some subtle textures of the black and white areas, but then it all ended up like this.
