Well, this is my second design for the cover of my brand new laptop, since my hubby hated the first one. XDI did always want a kinda old-looking cover, so this was a nice compromise.
The angel was drawn by hand using pencils (HB, 6B and 2 H), and the textures and text were added in Photoshop.

The text in the back is just random babbling of mine (you have to read every second line to actually get a text that makes sense, i.e. 1-3-5..., and 2-4-6...).
The bright text in the upper part of the image is a quote from Midsummer Night's Dream.
I now realize that the angel's head looks so huge with that hairstyle. XD The head looked okay while the hair wasn't yet there, now it just looks... big, lol. Still, I kinda like the overall look. (And yes, I know the title of the book is slanted. XD)
Oh, and I do have to say I was quite a bit inspired by Haibane Renmei while working on this. ^^

It looks gorgeous! I love the "ancient" feeling you get from it! I don't think her head looks big, to me it just seems that the eyes are a bit low. She's got the tall forehead-thing going on (the sign of wisdom!), so it probably just seems more prominent, that's all.

lol I do like tall foreheads, people often tell me I place the eyes too low, lol. But I usually do this when I want to achieve a baby-like look, since to me it seems like babies have disproportionally huge foreheads. XD

How do you make a cover for your laptop if you don't mind my asking? Do you print it on sticker type paper and just stick it to the outside?
I really like this design, I think it is lovely... I love old styles like this too, when they are done well, and yours is! Text in images has always fascinated me as well and you successfully merged them together.
(I'd like to make me a neat laptop cover, which is why I asked the above question.)

There are websites where you can use your own image/photo to be made into a cover. So you receive a sticky foil that you can stick onto your laptop. It is not very cheap, but it is something I really, really want.
