So this is what her sage mode will look like? I really like the deer spots on her face, those are perfect! I have to admit I don't really get the hair tho, since its already grown out of her head, would the sage mode transformation effect it? Does she get any structural physical changes, like naruto's eyes or Jiraya's nose? I think some antlers or proto-antlers could be really cool, tho that may be more like a Shikabane-oni than a Shikabane-hime
EDIT: I see the eye changes now, cool!
It would be hilarious if when Shikako first achieves sage mode its an imperfect form with a deerlike button nose and shes just like "nope" and doesn't reveal the transformation until she achieves perfect form. After all if Kiba saw, he'd have another embarassing tale to go along with the hair one.

I was wondering how she was going to keep up with the rest of Team 7 without some absurd fuinjutsu hax. Honored Shika Sage Mode would do it. I could see her coming up with her own "curse" seal, minus the whole horcrux thing, to gather up natural chakra and give her sage mode a boost.

I'm totally in love with her sage mode eyes! Crazy badass and intimidating (weather that's the look you were going for or not, I LOVE IT!) But random question? Are her toes painted pink? I can't tell and it's bothering me immensely!

Thank you! I'm glad you like it! I think the toes are just shiny plain colour - but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility for Shikako to be wearing nail polish. XD

I love your story! DRS? I seriously wish that this story was the actual animation..... I've drawn a ton of pics of shikako, but I didn't really know where her forehead protector was till now, even though I read your story more times than I can count. Sage mode? Seriously cool!!!! I think she should have raccoons as get summon, unless if you were planning to have the POKEMON ledgandaries on POKEMON white as 3 of the summons... Lol, that would be so awesome!!!

her summons will be deer huh? ( i was reading the other commens) I was think maybe something else like racoon (some reason her sage mode reminds me of a racoon lol) but deer would probably be the easiest seeing how the nara have alot to do with deer and i could see them having a deer summoning scroll around some where or at least the deer would agree to train her because she is a nara and they are so closely intertwined with deer (i mean they live with , take care of, and study them) yeah i guess deer would be best but it would be interesting if you did a different animal (she also reminds me of a bat what with the chakara sense and nara like the dark) but i dont know (hmmm now im thinking some sort of bird) well i dont know whatever yo decide to do will be interesting also i was wondering are you just going to time skip through the part naruto is gone like in the anime and manga or are you going to go through her training or will you get part way through show shes training to explain the increse in skill later because she did all the training during the time skip or will you do small time skips during the whole large time skip that happens in the series or will you stop this part when naruto leaves and start a sequel :/ well sorry i just type alot when im curious i feel this is getting long winded lol well good luck <3

I did consider bats at one point, because I'm very fond of them, but I am still leaning towards deer as the summon. Of course, all these pictures are just ideas so things could still change between now and writing it. XD
Mostly, I think I will be writing the three years while Naruto is gone. The world doesn't stop just because Naruto isn't there. XD

Lol, by the time Shikako reaches this point, I'm curious on whether or not she and her team will have earned their place in the Bingo Books. If I had any artistic talent I would be interested in making a picture of Zabuza and Haku sweat-dropping while examining a book with a zoom-in on three new entries: "Team Triple S - Shadow, Sharingan… Surprise!"
Hmm...this also raises questions for if Sasuke sticks around; is he going to get left behind, train for something else, or work with them to achieve Sage-Status? I suppose if he worked with them and succeeded in his training the Bingo Book would go: "Team Triple S - Shadow, Sharingan, and Surprise!" "Flee on Site - They are Sages and Not afraid to Kill".

If I was better at coming up with cool and catchy names, I'd want one for Team 7. But in my head, I can actually see 'Team Triple S' taking off, as a joke between them, maybe giving Naruto an 'S' name, then (maybe) Triple Sage... and finally as a legitimate ranking. Hmm, the curse seal is a bastardised sage mode...

Lol, I can definitely see "Team Triple S" becoming their signature name by the time they all reach that level, not only as a joke but as a serious warning.
If they were to all reach Sage-Mode, or just as powerful as Sage!, then I can see their team truly being listed as a Triple-S Threat, after all, even at the young age they are at right now, if you mess with one, you mess with all three! 
I've thought about many different "s" words for Naruto, but nothing...really quite fits him so much as "Surprise!"
Speaking of Naruto and surprises, maybe he needs to have a prank go wrong involving white paint and Shikako; it would foreshadow the future, as well as possibly create some Konoha-12 bonding, comedic moments. (See what happens to my mind when looking at a picture with someone with white hair? It turns to pranks!)
*Rubs hands together in glee* I can't wait until the bingo books are re-issued. I can almost see the different reactions of joy, fear, anger, disbelief, jealousy, overprotective-instincts, and denial rising to the surface. (I just can't see Tsunade,Jiraiya, Shikaku, Shikamaru, and Itachi being happy with with the team placing targets on their heads; proud, yes. Happy? No.)

Mind you, I don't see the reason for her to sign the Toad Contract. Maybe she learns some other summon beast tribe's secrets. Since the existence of the Yonbi and it's name by the Sage of Six Paths didn't prevent there from being a separate Monkey Tribe for the Sarutobi clan to sign their contract, and since Shikako's eyes don't look particularly froggy, I suspect that she has signed on with a different Ninja Animal group. Perhaps she decided to apprentice with Nekobaa, or maybe she made friends with Nintako and his octopus offspring?
In other words, I believe she's a different sort of Sage than Naruto.

Sage mode, eh? Since you hadn't brought up Nature Chakra since chapter two or three, I wondered if you'd forgotten about it. So what: seal mistress, super strength, medical jutsu, Nara's shadow arts and sage mode? That girl is gonna end up as quite the powerhouse. Well, nice work in taking your time in making it happen. It makes for an enjoyable read.
And it looks like she got style too. I like it.
