Description

Angelica had become concerned about the amount of time that Leah had been gone on her mission to infiltrate the Goth family. Her concern, however, was not for the well-being of poor Leah, but more about what family secrets she may be revealing in captivity.

“She knows too much. We have to get her out of there. Charlotte, come over here please!”

“Yes, Mom?”

“I need you to use your special talents to rescue that human resources girl. You know, the one that we sent to con the Goths? She’s been gone too long without checking in.”

“Sure, Mom, but it is Erin’s turn to use her special talents.”

“No, no, no. I need you to do this one. It is too important, and Erin is too unreliable. She doesn’t take things seriously.”

“MOM! I’m literally right here and can hear you.”

“Nothing I wouldn’t say to your face, dear. Your little sister is simply more trustworthy. It’s a proven fact. We need her for this operation. If you want off the bench, you’re just going to have to earn it by proving yourself. I’m sure something mundane will come up that you can attend to soon.”

Without retort, Erin stomps off toward her bedroom to sulk.

“I’ll go get ready, Mom.”

“Thank you, Charlotte. Don’t let the family down.”
