Description I am always up for a challenge. One of the ladies that frequents the coffee shop where I work (my boss is also awesome enoug to let me display and sell my masks there too) wanted something diffrent for the ball that we put on every summer. I hadn't worked with wire since my sculpture class in college but it didn't take long for my hands to remember how to manipulate the stuff. I couldn't help myself. Curls and swirls just seem to happen no matter what media I use. The photo looks more coppery than it is irl.

If you are interested in another mask like this one contact me or check my etsy for availability.

A pretty mask.

But wouldn't it bend easily?`

The base armature is rather hard to bend with bare hands and it hardened the more that I worked with it. The wire wrapping added strength and if you look closely many of the curls are wired to each other for stability. Its pretty stout. It wouldn't survive being forciably bent or sat on but its small gage wire so no surprise. Its an art piece anyway. Not a plaything that is going to be given to a destructive child. I know the client and this is going on her office wall after she wears it for one night so its going to live a cushy life as far as masks go. While it may not have the stability of the leather that I usually use it stands up much better than other media that I have used for mask making like paper or cloth.
