Their manes are crazy! I don't see American mustangs with hair that's that tangled... do these horses have curly hair then?

yeah!! i mean x'D Nooo , they have normal manes but in autumn they have all sort of seeds in it .. Those are seeds with some sticky stuff on which stick into their manes you see x'D They'll lose them in early spring

Where is this? The background is a little upsetting... unfortunate that they have to live so close to people. I hope they have plenty of space to run and be free.

That would be awesome! Lol I bet the people are afraid of them. Horses are large and have one nasty bite. They can be quite intimidating. I'm happy to know they have plenty of space though, is there only one herd? And the amount of burrs they have in their manes and tails cracks me up... I am imagining trying to brush that. Would have to just shave it all off.

Well , they're wild because this breed is a bit.. Rare , only 2500 koniks on the planet .. And this herd is pretty big .. I've never counted them but i think about 50 horses.. Too big to be a natural herd though.. And yeah , sometimes they're so curious so you can stroke them .. But some of the stallions don't like it when people are stroking their mates you know , so they'll always trott towards you x'D very scary but awesome!
And about the manes.. Well , it's nature.. I can't imagine having some persons brushing all those horses once in a week (or more!) so just leave it to mother nature , they'll get rid of those seeds in spring

Oh man, angry stallion come charging... that would be scary! I just had a funny thought, if those seeds could some how bloom while being in their hair... have leaves and flowers growing in their manes and tails... that would be a sight. And that is one very large herd for sure, I hope they continue to thrive and don't become a problem for locals.
