Description Finally, after three years of applying clay, removing it, and reapplying it, this sculpture is done! I meant to finish him today, but I started painting him last night and lost track of time, so I ended up working on him until 4:00 in the morning. But, I am so glad to have finally finished him.

Mor-Naur stands about six inches tall at his withers, and is about nine and a half inches or so to the tip of his horn. He is attached to his base by the wires that run through his legs.

His skeleton is wire, which has been covered in tin foil to flesh him out. He was primed with two coats of white paint. His coat is matte black, while the colors in his mane, tail, and feathering are primary yellow, primary red, and primary blue. His hooves and horn are painted gold. His eyes are painted a bright green. The base he stands on is paynes grey wiped over with gold paint. The whole sculpture has been coated with a layer of polyurethane for gloss and protection.

Connor made the horn! He made several others as well, so I guess I'll have to do another sculpt over Christmas break

Omg Ashley, you never cease to amaze with your awesome sculptures
Mor-Naur looks so fantastic here and the anatomy looks great too.
And you just keeping getting better.
I remembered your Aqualiss sculpture the other day. And the one of Galactinus. You've improved a lot.

Which reminds me, I really need to get some clay and try my hand at this.

Beautiful work here Ash!

For a first time sculptor, man, this rocks my socks! The anatomy is just incredible! The color choice is also very appealing to the eye and interesting. Wow, impressive. I am impressed!

Maybe when we have that visit you can give me some tips!

Haha, sure These guys are so much fun. I picked up some clay about five years ago just to play around with, and my first one was hideous! It's all dimply and wrinkled and the neck is like paper thin Each one I do I'm more happy with Hopefully I'll find time over Christmas to do another one.

I love the colors and the way you painted them! I also admire the anatomy and muscle definition you did - i have only done one sculpture and it was no where near as anatomically awesome as this.

sculpture is so incredibly hard. Kudos to nailing it

Haha, thank you I really enjoy sculpture, but I rarely find the patience to sit down and work on one consistently I wish I did, because I'd really like to get better and work on getting more movement in the sculpts.

Aw, thanks. I'll have to plan another one to do when I come home for Christmas. I wish I could do this up at school, but I don't have access to any ovens

Hehe, ears are fun to make. I actually fold the clay around a blunt hoofpick
