My second piece for the DTA for the Jader Wild Rust.

Being that this Jader is called 'Wild Rust' I like to think of him an a knight-in-rusty-armor, and to showcase that I decided to make this illustrated panel. Killed my wrist doing it, but definitely worth it. I love how this came out, and plan on making more panels in the future.

If I win this lovely laddie, I'm thinking his story will be that he was the companion to a valiant Drake Hunter, who took him north to train Rust as a hunter. That's where this Jader acquired his necklace with the bird skull. However his beloved master got a bit too close to an angry drake one day, and well... let's just say things got a bit crispy. All that was left was a rusted old helm and sword. So, now this Jader wanders around aimlessly, bemoaning the sorry state of his bum leg (whether it's his left or his right tends to change throughout the day), and looking to tell any who'll listen about the good old days when he and his master performed great deeds; slaying mighty monsters, rescuing damsels, vanquishing evil-doers, saving puppies, and all that. And only about half of it tends to be made up. He ekes a living off scraps from kind-hearted souls, and does his best to avoid capture by any Hunters who might try make something useful of him. Oh no – the life of a Hunter is definitely not for this Jader! He's had a taste of that life, and much prefers his life as a scavenger. It might be a far cry from the life of luxury his kind live in the Isles, but it sure beats being toasted alive by an angry drake!

Under it all though, this Jader is still noble at heart, and though he'll gripe and moan about it, he usually tries to do what he feels is right. So perhaps his knightly days aren't over just yet?
